Trust me, they have you covered. From the gourmet dining offered at Disney Springs and in the hotels, to the amazing food festivals year round, there is something for even the most discriminating taste. We had the chance, this fall, to take in the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. If you haven’t been, it is a good excuse to visit the mouse and try foods from around the world. The festival offers food and beverage pairings, culinary demonstrations by celebrity chefs, culinary classes, beverage seminars, cheese seminars, and much more. We attended a wine tasting with Vasse Felix wines from Australia (more on that tomorrow) and a Tailgate Tasting hosted by ESPN’s Monday Night Football. We tried foods from all over the world and even participated in a cheese crawl, Emile’s Fromage Montage. Inspired by the movie Ratatouille, Emile's Fromage Montage makes five stops to try five different cheese dishes. As a reward, participants are give a free cheesecake dessert! The crawl dishes were Impossible Cottage Pie, Black Pepper Boursin Soufflé, Toasted Raclette Swiss cheese, Schinkennudeln (German Mac & Cheese) and Pao de Queijo (Three Cheese Bread). They were all delicious, but my favorite was the Boursin Soufflé. Epcot has activities for the kids during the festival, but to be honest, I think this is one of those times you leave the kids at home and have a weekend getaway, go with another couple and trade evenings with the kids or take advantage of the babysitting and childcare options at the Disney Resorts. This year, mid-day magic tickets were great for those who just wanted to take in the festival or for those who like to sleep in. Admittance after noon was perfect to start dining around the world. Epcot International Food and Wine Festival runs through November 23, so you still have time to check it out. Or plan your trip for next year now. Things book quickly for this event. We are Disney fans and this past year purchased a Disney Vacation Club. We love the convenience and the “at home” feel of the resorts. We also love the DVC families. They are such a special group. If you are wondering about the DVC, private message me for more information. We love it. Stay tuned this week for more of our adventures at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Tomorrow, we visit Vasse Felix Winery. PS
